BioRegional’s work contributing to sustainable urbanization in China

BioRegional is working on two projects in parts of the country experiencing rapid urbanization, Guangzhou and Chongqing. In the south we are working with China Merchants Property Development on their ‘Jinshan Gu’ (The Hills) project with a view to endorsing it as a One Planet Community in the near future. In Chongqing, after signing a Memorandum of Understanding with the Municipal Government, the team is busy preparing the preliminary plans for a 31 hectare mixed use residential One Planet Community.

The team also continues to run One Planet workshops and training sessions with planning, design and construction specialists in order to advance the application of the 10 One Planet principles.

We would also like to welcome our new member of staff, Sichun Xu, who joins us on secondment from Chongqing based architect RHS.

Sichun Xu

Sichun is a qualified urban planner with 9 years’ experience working in urban research, planning and design for national, provincial and city government. She has a Master’s degree in Human Geography and also has experience of ecological planning and design.

Amy manages BioRegional’s Energy Team providing technical input to One Planet projects and consultancy work with a range of clients.
