The Communities
The One Planet Communities programme gives recognition to the highest level of achievement in sustainable design and operation.
For a development to become a One Planet Community a number of requirements must be met. BioRegional works in partnership with developers to help them fulfil these requirements and reviews performance against targets. The projects listed on this website are categorised according to the stage in the membership process they have reached. On each community’s page you will find a summary of the development and links to the partner developer’s website, the One Planet Action Plan and the annual review where completed.
One Planet Communities
These projects are entitled to display the planet with a heart logo. They have a rigorous One Planet Action Plan with targets and strategies for each of the 10 One Planet principles approved by the project review board, and have made a commitment to monitor performance until 2020.
There are currently four fully endorsed One Planet Communities:
Emerging Communities and Communities Applying the One Planet Principles
These projects are at an early stage of development. They have outline Action Plans which require further development before being reviewed for endorsement.
