Common International Targets

The One Planet Communities programme uses a set of Common International Targets to ensure that projects are guided towards a shared end-point and to determine what level of performance is required for a community to be eligible for membership of the network.

The overarching target for the projects is that, by 2020, it should be easy for people living in a One Planet Community to reduce their Ecological Footprint to a size that can be maintained by the resources of one planet.

The Common International Targets help BioRegional and their partners to build such communities.

In recognition that the solutions for a sustainable future are context specific, the Common International Targets, whilst guiding all projects, are flexible and can be expressed differently to cope with the unique challenges faced.
